Pittville Badminton Club is a friendly, sociable and ambitious club, based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. We are an accredited Premier (Clubmark) Club and have something to offer junior and adult players of all levels of experience. We run weekly club nights for our members to play socially, coaching sessions (both for juniors and adults) to help players improve and arrange club socials and competitions. We also provide the opportunity for our members to represent our club in the local Gloucestershire Badminton League and in county junior competitions.

Thank you to all 65 players who joined us for our Raveminton event last weekend. You can check out a few photos from the night in our photo gallery. Also, a massive thank you to everyone who helped run the event - we couldn't do it without you!

Raveminton is back for 2019!
In a few weeks we will, once again, be turning off all the normal lights, and lighting the sports hall with ultra-violet (UV) lights instead. The courts will be marked out using fluorescent UV tape and we will be using yellow shuttles that glow in the dark. For those looking to accessorise, we should have a little extra UV tape which can be used on your racket and a small selection of glow sticks, head bands, UV body crayons etc. During the sessions we will also be running a few UV themed challenges, with prizes.
The event will run during all our normal coaching sessions on Sunday 3rd November. We want as many players as possible to be able to attend these sessions, as we are only able to run one UV event a year. If anyone who normally attends these sessions knows that they won't be able to attend then we would appreciate it if they could email us to let us know. That way we can offer their spot to someone who can attend. If we are able to find someone else then we will refund their session fee as a thank you :)

Parents in Sport Week will run from 7th - 13th October this year. Organised by the Child Protection in Sport Unit (a partnership between NSPCC and Sport England), the week aims to highlight the valuable role parents play, and the positive influence they have, in ensuring young people develop to their full potential and enjoy their time playing sport.
In particular, this year's aim is to get parents to make the Sports Parents Promise to encourage their child's safe enjoyment of sport:
In support of this week, we'd like to invite parents / guardians of local junior players to join us for a special Family Badminton session so that they can join in with the fun too. During the session, parents / guardians will join their child for:
Family members (older than 18) of any standard are welcome to join in - even if you have never played badminton before! No need to worry if you don't have a racket, we will have plenty available.
The session will take place at Balcarras Sports Centre on Saturday 12th October from 12pm until 2pm. It will cost £5 per 'parent and child' pair, to help contribute to the cost of the courts.
We hope you will be able to join us. Please check your e-mail for details on how to sign up.

Hi Everyone, don't forget that there is no junior coaching session or senior club night on Wednesday 25th September. This is because there is a school event on at Pates Grammar School which means we are unable to use the sports hall. Sessions will resume the week after, on Wednesday 2nd October. See you all then.
