At Pittville Badminton Club, we recognise the value of young people completing The Duke of Edinburgh's (DofE) Award.
We would recommend that all our players pursue the award, if they have the opportunity to do so.
As such, our coaches are more than happy to support players who wish to use attendance at our badminton sessions towards the award.
However, at any point in time we have quite a few of our players completing the award and it has become difficult for our coaches to track everyone - especially because players ask our coaches to track them in a variety of different ways (in person, by phone, by email).
So we ask our players to use this tracking system on our website to make it easier, for both our players and our coaches, to monitor progress towards the award.
Some rules you must stick to for our coaches to be able to submit an assessor report for you:
-
Young people are expected to take ownership and be responsible for their own DofE award progress.
As such, we will only discuss DofE progress with young people, not their parent(s)/guardian(s)!
-
You must ask if one of our coaches will be your assessor before your DofE award begins.
Only sessions attended after you have had confirmation from one of our coaches will count towards your DofE award progress.
-
You must sign up for an account on this website. After attending each session you must log in and submit
a log entry with the date of the session and a short description of what you did.
Our coaches will log in each week and verify your attendance. Once you have completed the required number of sessions/hours, one
of our coaches will write and submit an assessor report for you.
-
You MUST log an entry shortly after each session - do not leave it until the end of your award.
Coaches reserve the right not to validate sessions that took place too long ago.
