Parents in Sport Week will run from 7th - 13th October this year. Organised by the Child Protection in Sport Unit (a partnership between NSPCC and Sport England), the week aims to highlight the valuable role parents play, and the positive influence they have, in ensuring young people develop to their full potential and enjoy their time playing sport.

In particular, this year's aim is to get parents to make the Sports Parents Promise to encourage their child's safe enjoyment of sport:

In support of this week, we'd like to invite parents / guardians of local junior players to join us for a special Family Badminton session so that they can join in with the fun too. During the session, parents / guardians will join their child for:

Family members (older than 18) of any standard are welcome to join in - even if you have never played badminton before! No need to worry if you don't have a racket, we will have plenty available.

The session will take place at Balcarras Sports Centre on Saturday 12th October from 12pm until 2pm. It will cost £5 per 'parent and child' pair, to help contribute to the cost of the courts.

We hope you will be able to join us. Please check your e-mail for details on how to sign up.
